loved this food blog, something I am doing too, having my trusted maid gone home and then some harrowing experience with maids after, I have decided not to have a maid for awhile or as long as I can "tahan". meanwhile, I picked up cooking pretty much like how you started!!! LOL, and because our generation are so spoiled, it is tough tough tough getting started. But seeing Alethea baking buns, that is inspirational!

Hi! I wanted to share how much your blog has been a blessing.... My oldest boy was in P1 in Singapore when the Lord led me to your blog in 2009. It was interesting to read about how you homeschooled. Little did I know that the Lord was preparing me for the journey ahead. In Sep 2010, we moved to the New York & guess what... we chose to homeschool! You do not now how much I've referred to all that you've posted, book lists... etc. as a guide because I'm completely new to this. And when I read about you moving to Canada & your sharing about homeschooling there, there was a resonance in my spirit because I can totally identify with the challenges & exciting adventures you face (being a Singaporean homeschooling in North America). I just want to say "Thank you!" for sharing your lives & your journey. Do keep up with the good work that the Lord had begun & may He continue to use you to bless many.

Hello

I am a journalist with the Straits Times newspaper, and am trying to do a feature on families who home-school their kids, their reasons for doing so, the benefits they see as compared to enrolling them in full-time schools etc.

Would it be okay if I interview you, as you seem to have been doing this for some time now.

We can speak over the phone, but it would be great if I could meet you in person and speak to your children as well.

My email is limze@sph.com.sg. Thank you very much for your time.

Thank you - this is lovely! My daughter (coming 8) is so stuck on a series I don't like. I've decided to let it be, as long as she reads other books. I've been trying to find new books to introduce to her and her younger brothers for a while and your list is a perfect place to start. Also thanks for the pointers about audio books. My children are great fans of audio books and I think I've exhausted the library's collection (of suitable enjoyable books, I mean!).
